DSS is a livelihood promoting NGO  working in four districts of Odisha focusing on livelihood promotion, women empowerment, organic agriculture, handicrafts, migrant labour and disaster management. It has 20 no of full time and 24 part time staff, It focus on women, dalits, tribals, artisans, migrant labour, rural and tribal youth etc.

Darbar Sahitya Sansada is engaged in promoting livelihood for weaker sections like women and girls, children, youth, SCs, STs, Small and marginal farmers, rural artisans, migrant labour, disaster striken community etc in 4 districts of Odisha. DSS is having 20 number of full time staff and around 24 part timers. It has its state office at Bhubaneswar and district offices in respective districts. The focus activities are

1. Livelihood promotion through micro enterprise promotion , small loans, marketing support etc.
2. Women empowerment and violence against women programme
3. Women farmers development programme through Farmer Producers Organisation, organic farming programme.
4. Craft and Artisan Development in rural and tribal areas
5. Disaster management, Relief, rehabilitation
6. Migrant labour safety, security and skilling programme
7. Child development and protection programme
8. Clean energy promotion programme

DSS depends on grants and donations for running these activities and operations.
