Pratigya is Jharkhand based youth initiative to ensure access of quality education to every child and mobilize youth to action. It was started in 2007 by a group of committed youth who strongly believe that change is possible only through Education.

Pratigya has several grassroots initiatives and community based programs both in urban and rural areas of Jharkhand along with policy level advocacy on issues of Education, Children’s care and protection & campaign, youth development and their livelihood support.

1. School Education support to marginalized & tribal children in slums and villages of Jharkhand- Over 1000 children have been supported for till now.
2. Admission facilitation to children in CBSE Schools under 25% BPL reservation as per RTE ACT- Over 3,000 children have been supported till now.
3. Life skills training & Counselling to underprivileged children based on the traits defined by WHO- Over 5000 children have been trained till now in Ranchi and Khunti.
4. Facilitation of Cooperative functioning and learning- More than 600 registered child members, working with over 2000 marginalized and tribal children through Child Rights Club (CRC), Children Development Khazana (CDK) and Child Health and Sports Cooperative (CHSC) in Ranchi and Khunti.
5. Establishment of self-sustainable resource centers for child and adolescent & community library- 2 such centers and libraries have been set up at Ranchi and Khunti, catering to over 500 children per year.
6. Sensitization of Youth- Over 5000 youth sensitized and trained through various seminars and workshops across Jharkhand.
7. Training and engagement of adolescents- About 2000 adolescents have been trained on Constitutional values, Fundamental Rights and Duties in 10 districts of Jharkhand.
8. Public Dialogue on “Child Trafficking Free India”- Over 1000 important stakeholders (Government officials, social activists and community leaders) in 9 districts of Jharkhand.
9. Rise Against Child Marriage campaign- More than 1200 signatures have been received over the state of Jharkhand including various government and legal departments.
10. Disaster Relief- More than 4500 families have been supported with life saving ration kits till now. More than 1500 families have been provided with medical kits and menstrual hygiene kit. More than 60,000 masks have been facilitated to children throughout the state.

Srijan Bachpan has been selected and featured in globally top 25 Non-Profit Sustainable Solutions in “Youth Solutions Report 2019” by Sustainable Development Solutions Network- Youth of United Nations out of 4300 solutions submitted from 174 countries.
